Before you read this

The Tool Trial is live at thetooltrial.com, served over HTTPS. Our pages and guides are published and can be read by anyone who visits.

Two Google services are connected, both through the Site Kit plugin: Google Search Console, which reports how this site appears in Google Search, and Google Analytics, which measures how pages are used. Analytics is running now and sets cookies on your device, described below.

Google AdSense is connected and its code is on this site, but no advertisement is being shown yet — the site is waiting for Google’s review, and until that review passes, nothing is served.

A consent banner is in place, and where you are decides what it does: in the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom and Switzerland, analytics and advertising storage are both blocked until you accept. Everywhere else, including the United States, analytics starts when the page loads and the banner lets you change that afterward.

We would rather tell you that plainly than describe a single worldwide rule we do not actually apply.

This is not legal advice, and it does not claim compliance with any specific law in any jurisdiction.

Who is responsible for this site

The Tool Trial is an independently operated editorial publication. It is published by The Tool Trial Editorial Team and operated from Peru.

No postal address is published. No company, registered entity, or legal representative is named, because none has been formed, and none is invented here.

What is processed

Technical and usage information. A web server generally receives an IP address, a browser type and version, an operating system, the page requested, the referring page, and the time of the request. Some of this is written to server logs by default. Log retention depends on the hosting provider (IONOS, see below) and is unverified.

Information you choose to send us. If you send us a message, its content and whatever identifying details it contains are processed only to read it and, when possible, to respond — specifically to answer questions, review possible factual errors, consider topic suggestions and editorial feedback, handle legitimate business or press inquiries, and manage spam, abuse, or security concerns. Messages are not used for marketing, added to a promotional list, sold, or shared with a third party for a commercial purpose.

Search and analytics information. Google Search Console receives aggregate search-performance data about this site. Google Analytics is connected and collecting: page views, approximate location derived from an IP address, device and browser characteristics, referring source, and how a visitor moves between pages. Both are described in full below. No other analytics tool is installed.

Advertising information. The Google AdSense code is now installed, though no advertisement is being served yet. Once ads run, Google and other vendors may process information about a visitor’s device and browsing in order to select, cap and measure them — see Advertising and Google AdSense below.

Information we do not want. We do not ask for and do not want passwords, payment details, government identification numbers, health information, or another person’s private records. The Contact page says the same thing.

Forms and contact

No web form is configured, and none is planned. The only channel is a single email address, thetooltrial.editorial@gmail.com, also shown on the Contact page. Sending a message does not guarantee a reply or a response time.

Messages are delivered to that email inbox. Only the owner and operator of The Tool Trial has access to it — no employee, contractor, or other third party. Messages are kept for up to 365 days from the date received, reviewed manually at least once a month, and deleted once that period passes — unless a message is still needed for an unresolved conversation, an open editorial correction, a security or abuse investigation, or to meet a legal obligation that applies, in which case it is kept only until that specific need ends, and then deleted.

Spam is deleted once identified. An abusive message may be blocked or deleted. Either could be kept temporarily to protect the account or the site, document a security incident, or meet an applicable legal obligation — no specific court order or legal obligation is claimed here, only the general possibility that one could apply.

Email is not a secure channel for sensitive or confidential information. Please remove personal or identifying details before sending.

Search Console, and analytics

Google Search Console is connected, through the Site Kit plugin, and is collecting data.

Search Console is a search-performance tool rather than a visitor-tracking one. It reports, in aggregate, the queries this site appeared for in Google Search, how often its pages were shown and clicked, and the average position they held. It does not report individual visitors to us, and it is not how we would measure on-site behaviour.

Google Analytics 4 is connected and collecting, through the Site Kit plugin.

It generally records page views, approximate location derived from an IP address, device and browser characteristics, where a visit came from, and how a visitor moves between pages. It sets two first-party cookies on this domain, _ga and _ga_6ZR4S5THLQ, listed on our cookie policy page.

When it runs depends on where you are. For visitors in the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom and Switzerland, Google Consent Mode holds analytics in a denied state — no analytics cookie is written — until that visitor accepts through the banner. For visitors elsewhere, including the United States, analytics starts when the page loads.

What you can do either way. The banner is available on every page, so you can withdraw or give consent at any time. Your browser can also block or delete these cookies, and Google publishes a browser add-on that opts you out of Google Analytics across sites. Blocking them does not affect anything you can read here.

No other analytics tool is installed.

How Google uses information from sites that use its services is described in How Google uses information from sites or apps that use our services.

Advertising and Google AdSense

This site uses Google AdSense. The account is created, the code is installed, and the site has been submitted to Google for review. No advertisement is being shown yet, and no revenue has been received — approval is Google’s decision, it can take days or weeks, and it is not guaranteed.

There are no affiliate links and no sponsored placements, and no compensation is received from any company this site writes about.

When advertising code is active, Google and other vendors may place or read cookies, and may use web beacons, IP addresses, device identifiers, and similar technologies, in order to serve, select, cap, measure, and protect advertising, and in some configurations to personalize what is shown.

You can read how Google uses information from sites that use its services here: How Google uses information from sites or apps that use our services.

What controls you are offered, and whether personalized advertising requires your consent, depends on where you are and on the settings that apply to you. Where a consent mechanism is required, it has to be in place and working before advertising cookies are set — that rule is stated in full on the Cookie Policy page, and it applies whether or not a particular reader’s location would compel it.

When advertising becomes active, this section will be updated to say so plainly rather than left to imply it.

Cookies and similar technologies

Cookies and similar technologies store or read information on a device. Their use is described separately, on our cookie policy page.

A consent mechanism is in place, and it asks before setting an analytics cookie in the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom and Switzerland. Outside those regions it does not ask first.

Search Console places no cookie on a visitor’s device. Analytics places two, listed on the cookie policy page. Before advertising is introduced, the same mechanism has to cover it, and that work is not done yet.

Third parties

The site is hosted by IONOS, active since 2026-08-18. Server location, what it processes, and how long it retains anything are unverified and not invented here.

Google processes the search-performance data behind Search Console, the usage data collected by Google Analytics, and — once advertising is approved and running — the advertising data described above. Each is governed by its own terms.

Two choices we made on that account, and you can hold us to: Google’s data processing terms were accepted on August 23, 2026, and every data-sharing option that would let Google use this site’s analytics data for its own products, benchmarking, technical support or sales recommendations is switched off. Google processes that data to provide the service, not to improve its own.

Any other provider introduced later will be listed here.

Why information is processed

The purposes are: to deliver pages that were requested; to keep the site secure and diagnose faults; and to read and answer messages sent to us. If analytics is introduced, understanding which pages are read is added to that list; if advertising is introduced, so are displaying and measuring it.

We do not sell personal information, and we have no interest in building profiles of readers. Where a legal basis or a consent record is required for a purpose, obtaining it correctly is part of introducing that purpose.

How long information is kept

Contact messages are kept for up to 365 days, with the exceptions described above under Forms and contact. This is an operational decision by the owner, not a conclusion about what any law requires in any market this site reaches.

Server logs are retained by the hosting provider on its own schedule. That schedule is not published to us and is not invented here.

Search Console data is retained by Google on its own schedule, which we do not set and do not restate here.

Google Analytics is set to keep both event data and user data for 14 months, which is the longest the free tier allows, after which Google deletes it. Its cookies last up to two years by Google’s default. We reviewed and set that on August 23, 2026.

Advertising retention is set by Google for AdSense, on a schedule we do not control and do not restate here. No period is invented for it.

Security

Reasonable measures are taken to protect information, and any provider chosen is assessed in part on what it offers.

No absolute guarantee is made. No transmission over the internet and no storage system is completely secure, and we will not tell you otherwise. We also make no claim about how a third-party provider stores, protects, or deletes what passes through it.

Your privacy rights

Depending on where you live, you may have rights over information about you — commonly including access, correction, deletion, and objection to certain processing. Some jurisdictions add others.

Send a request to thetooltrial.editorial@gmail.com. It is reviewed the same way any other message is: no separate formal request process is in place, and no guaranteed response time is promised. We may need to ask you for enough detail to identify what information you mean.

International transfers

If a provider processes information outside the country where a reader lives, that is an international transfer. This is a possibility to plan for rather than a confirmed practice — IONOS’s server location is unverified, and Google processes both search-performance and analytics data under its own terms and its own infrastructure.

Children

This site is written for people running a business. It is not directed at children, and we do not knowingly seek information from them. If we learn that a child has sent us personal information, we will delete it.

Changes to this policy

This page is updated when the practices it describes change — most obviously if analytics or advertising is introduced, or a provider is added. The review date at the top changes with it.

A material change will be described rather than made quietly.

Contact

For any privacy question, or to make a request about information relating to you, write to thetooltrial.editorial@gmail.com. That is the designated privacy contact for this site, and it is the same general address shown on the Contact page.
